ENG 4710: Advanced Studies in Women and Literature
MWF 12-12:50 p.m. / Dr. Jennifer Wilson
The Spring 2024 section of ENG 4710 will focus on the complex dynamics between individual and community identities in novels by Jane Austen, George Eliot, Virginia Woolf, and Zadie Smith. As our readings progress from the 19th to 21st century, we will not only study the evolving form of the novel, but analyze the changing cultural contexts that affect these particular fictional worlds. Class activities will include daily discussion, presentations, two tests, and a process-writing approach to research projects.
