Natural and Supernatural Romanticism
ENG 4870: Literature of the British Romantic Period
Fall 2023, MW 2:00 pm–3:15 pm, Sanford 208
In ENG 4870, we will focus on two key themes in British Romanticism: nature and the supernatural. We will examine poetry that celebrates nature’s sublimity and works that feature such supernatural beings as Life-in-Death, nature daemons, angels, devils, witches, fairies, Prometheus, and Lamia.
