Appalachian State University has over 1,000 Latinx-identifying individuals enrolled since the Fall of 2022. App State Students on average receive about 4.9 million solely from outside scholarships each year, including the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
HSF was first founded in 1975 to empower students and parents with resources, support services, and scholarships for exceptional Latinx students. As one of the most reputable non-profit organizations, HSF believes that the Latin community can make an impact for a stronger and brighter future. HSF every year selects 10,000 students as HSF Scholars from a large pool of applicants from more than 1,200 institutions. HSF awards over $30 million in scholarships each year directly awarded to students.
Becoming an HSF Scholar includes access to a full range of support services, access to internships, and different job opportunities with HSF partners. Phase 1 of the application process only takes an average of 30 minutes to complete and doesn’t require any essays, recommendations, or document uploads. It’s simple, straightforward, and can bring great rewards. There are two other phases, in which they will ask for recommendations and other materials.
