IDS 3050: Social Media & Community Engagement will be taught by Dr. Sarah Beth Hopton this Fall 2021 semester. Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6:15 pm in the brand new Sanford Hall, room 210. This class will discuss the rhetorical foundations of social media campaigns and how to compose, edit and visualize social media campaign components while working directly with community-based clients in an experiential learning setting.
"Social media has ushered in a new era of communication between organizations and stakeholders, but what is the process for developing robust, effective, and ethical social media campaigns? Using case studies and field work, this course will cover the latest industry standards and best practices to engage audiences through social listening, strategic design, creative engagement and evaluation and will feature expert testimony from social media professionals across the globe."
