Gaining valuable experience and developing skills is of course something to look forward to, but why not do this while getting paid? HACU’s National Internship program is a gold standard opportunity you have access to today.
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) represents more than 500 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, Spain, and U.S. school districts. Thanks to advocacy from App Unidos, and a donation from the College of Arts and Sciences, Appalachian State University has recently joined HACU, which will allow all App State students to participate in their programs.
The prestigious HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) offers paid internships with corporate and federal agency partners, lasting 10 weeks in the Summer and 15 weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters. HACU’s current federal agency partners include NASA, CDC, USDA, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the Library of Congress, to name a few.
Most of these internships are in Washington D.C. and have virtual, hybrid, and in-person options. The program has many benefits including being a paid opportunity, federal work experience, and professional development seminars. There is no application fee and the program and you can enroll in an internship at App State to earn academic credit for the experience. This program is not only for students with Hispanic heritage. The only true requirement is to be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program.
The deadline for the Summer internships is soon approaching as February 28 is only days away. The time to apply is now!
