HOW DOES LANGUAGE ALTER OUR PERCEPTIONS?

This course is about language: its trial-and-error routine of expression, the ways it directly impacts our selfhoods, and, more importantly, language’s influence on authenticity and reality itself. Through the philosophy of language and history, we will analyze essays, literature, art, photography, and film to ask how language works thorough—PERSUASION, ISOLATION, INCLUSION, DELUSION, AND DESIRE (all which are hallmarks of modernity).
