The Department of English is happy to announce that Dr. Clarice Moran will be joining the faculty as Assistant Professor of English Education in the Fall of 2020. Dr. Moran is originally from Jacksonville Beach, Fla., where she still enjoys visiting her parents, soaking up the sun, and cruising the Intracoastal Waterway on a boat. She is married to her college sweetheart and has three children, two dogs, and a cat. Dr. Moran met her husband at the University of Georgia, where she received her bachelor's degree in journalism. After working for newspapers in Atlanta, she and her husband moved to Raleigh, NC, where she went into teaching and received her master's degree at North Carolina State University. They have lived in Raleigh ever since--except for four years when they lived in London with their children. When they returned home to North Carolina after their time in London, Dr. Moran made the decision to get her Ph.D. at N.C. State. From there, she joined the faculty at Kennesaw State University in metro Atlanta as an Assistant Professor of English Education. While she loved working at KSU for the past four years, she is really looking forward to connecting with future teachers at App and pursuing her research interests in technology integration in English Language Arts. When she is not working or writing, Dr. Moran enjoys making beer, riding motorcycles, running, and spending time outdoors. She is currently trying to learn to play the violin so that she can serenade friends with the "happy birthday" song on their birthdays.
